Art2Go – Creative Industries Mentoring

Scheduled for 30 April, 30 July, 15 October

Want to have a chat with an artist, mentor or colleague, but live too far away? Feeling isolated from your peers? Time to brush up your business skills? We may have the answer for you! Artists (of any genre) in the Orana Arts region have the opportunity to participate in our Art2Go program, free of charge. The program runs from April until October, and during that time you elect to work with one of four mentors in our region skilled in different areas of the community, arts, business or coaching sectors including Jack Randell, Kerry Ellen, Kim Goldsmith, Jen Cowley and Kerry Phipps. There are three training days to attend during this time on 30 April, 30 July and 15 October covering different areas of strategic business planning, social media and picking up the passion plus review sessions with your mentors. This program is open to artists of all ages, abilities and genres – from literature, to music, to visual arts and screen arts. For an application form, download below or get in toch with the Orana Arts office.

Blast from the Past

Scheduled on coordinated dates year-long, this project is in partnership with Western Plains Cultural Centre. This targets the Seniors in the community through bringing objects from the Museum and Gallery collections and focusing around the stories, provenance of the object and reminiscing regarding art and museum objects from the collections. The program will be visiting aged care facilities around the region as a pilot project in 2011.

WritersLink

Scheduled for 30 August 2011
Now in it’s fourth year, it is envisaged that Orana Arts coordinate and host the event in different locations over four years then hand over to a suitable community group to coordinate themselves with Orana Arts acting as a support. We would still continue the process of sending out information to the network. Partnering with the local regional library service, it is envisaged these forums will take on board input from the writers groups in each community.
