Please find attached an invitation to exhibit at St Joseph’s House Art Show at the end of this month.

St. Joseph’s House is attached to Mary Mackillop College in Bathurst. They offer a wonderful service for all NSW and this is one of their fund raising efforts for the year.

The exhibition is open to all types of art work. Obviously well known and well sought after artists will be of great benefit.

Orana Arts in partnership with Dubbo Masonic Association present the inaugural Battle of the Choirs, Sunday 19 August 2012, 1.30pm - 5pm, at Dubbo RSL Club Auditorium.
Battle of the Choirs is an exciting event that will celebrate choral singing, with an emphasis on fun and entertainment, while also acknowledging skill. Choirs of all age groups based in regional NSW are invited to take part. Registrations are now open, with limited places available. Applications close Friday 1 June 2012

Western College 2012 Art Prize

Dubbo’s Western College is calling on aspiring artists from across the region to put paint to canvas (or pen or pastel to paper!) and enter their second annual art prize. In association with the Western Plains Cultural Centre (WPCC), the theme for the 2012 competition again borrows from Western College’s core principles. Last year, entrants were asked to submit their artistic interpretations of “integrity” – this year they need to find their “passion”!
The competition offers an acquisitive first prize of $2200, a prize of $500 awarded to an entrant undertaking full or part time study and a $500 prize for an entry from an indigenous artist.
The competition is open to all residents of Dubbo, Midwestern, Narromine, Gilgandra and Wellington LGA's.

Midnite Cafe, Dubbo: Call for performing artists

The Midnite Cafe presents an evening of live music, art and good coffee regularly on a Saturday night. Organisers are always looking for talented people to come and perform and be supported by their community in a grass roots candle lit environment! Visual artists can also come and hang up their art to sell, at no cost!

This is a community volunteer-run venture that gives up and coming performers and creative people a place to show their talent. It is also offers an alternative and alcohol-free venue for people of all different interests to meet, chat and be entertained. Venue is the Wesley Hall in Church St.

SING Dubbo 5-6 May 2012 - register NOW!

Sing Dubbo is a weekend of singing workshops, a Saturday evening singing session and other musical activities, culminating in a performance on Sunday afternoon in Dubbo’s Holy Trinity Church. The music will include new songs and arrangements, and the odd familiar tune, all based on the rich history and culture of Dubbo and surrounds. Musical Director Christina Mimmocchi (Sing Cockatoo) will be assisted by a team of experienced musicians including choir director Rowen Fox.

If you’re coming from out of Dubbo, or if you’re a local and want to immerse yourself in the weekend, come and stay at the Big 4 Dubbo Parklands where the weekend will be based. We can promise you lots of fun and heaps of singing. Characters from Dubbo’s rich history include Wiradjuri warriors, explorers, squatters, farmers, zoo critters, artists and artisans, sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. There’s a place for you!!
