Waste 2 Art Workshop in Gilgandra

A Waste 2 Art, Creative Textile & Printmaking Workshop will be held at the Cooee Heritage Centre, Gilgandra, Saturday 11 February.

This fun one-day workshop is a lead-up to the Gilgandra heat of the annual Waste 2 Art competition and exhibition, run in many local government areas across Western NSW. Waste 2 Art encourages the concept of 'Reduce, Re-use and Recycle" whilst changing attitudes about ‘rubbish’ and the waste we all create on a daily basis.

Why not use the workshop as a fun opportunity to share ideas and create your own entry for the local competition?  The workshop is suitable for beginners, sewers and non-sewers, artists and others born with two left thumbs. All are welcome. No particular artistic skill is needed, just an open-minded spirit of enthusiasm to recycle, re-use and adaptation.

Booking is essential as numbers are limited. Non-refundable class fee of $15.00 payable upon booking. Phone Susan Brisbane, Cooee Heritage Centre 6817 8700 or Tanya Coxsedge 6847 2104. Proudly sponsored by Gilgandra Shire Council.

Expressions of Interest are being called to extend workshop over 2 days - Saturday and Sunday. For participants the fee for Sunday would be $25 - that's only $40 for a two day workshop! On the Sunday, participants may continue working on their own project or join group activities that focus on finding ways to explore the full potential of found materials - fun exercises to get you thinking outside the square!
