Gulgong Musical and Dramatic Society

In 1974 the Gulgong Musical and Dramatic Society was established and a community appeal enabled it to buy the Gulgong Prince of Wales Opera House. Gulgong MADS presents several performances a year in the Opera House. The Gulgong Prince of Wales Eisteddfod was started by the Gulgong Musical and Dramatic Society in 1980 as a fundraiser for the Prince of Wales Opera House. The Eisteddfod has become an important cultural event for Gulgong and the Central West.
