Heartfelt Studio

Helen is a felt artist who produces clothing, hats, wall hangings and other creative works. She is involved in Mudgee Arts and has coordinated exhibitions in the Mudgee community. Helen teaches felting workshops and caters to a wide variety of abilities and levels. Helen holds teaching qualifications from Charles Sturt University and also qualifications in ceramics. Helen is basically self-taught within her craft and often draws on ceramics to treat many of her creations as soft sculpture. She dyes her own wool and fibres from a small base of colours. Some of the pieces in this collection are a refection on her journey to teach workshops in remote area schools in 2008, and include framed pictures, hangings, shawls and apparel. The unique colours and design, combined with proficient craftsmanship enables Helen to produce quality timeless pieces of felt work.
