Description: The RDHS precinct is located in the main street of Rylstone and consists of the 1871 Bridge View Inn an intact and handsome heritage-listed sandstone building, a Community Garden, a Slab Shed, and The Cottage Museum a simple 1890�s weatherboard home built for local blacksmith, James Nash. The museum displays domestic and rural life from the 1860s onwards with items of costume, rustic furniture, kitchenalia, small farming tools, schooling, WWI & WWII, musical instruments, and photographs of pioneers, the town and district. The Bridge View Inn is open to the public 7 days a week and offers specialty shops and bed & breakfast. The Society hosts lectures, workshops and exhibitions; organises excursions and heritage events; and continues to research local and family history drawing on the resources of the community as well as the Society's archives and collection.
