St Augustines School

Total enrollments: 157 children. St Augustine's was established by the Sisters of Mercy in 1904. Our vision is to be a centre of culture and learning within the Narromine community. The core values of the school are faith, honesty and responsibility whilst living within the context of the Catholic tradition. Our focus is to provide a sound and challenging educational curriculum. The school achieves its mission by encouraging students to participate in a variety of academic, cultural and sports endeavours. It is the aim of St Augustine's to give every pupil the opportunity to fulfil their potential in every respect. The school provides remedial literacy and numeracy, special needs programs and peer support. Our pastoral care policy ensures the welfare of all students is of the highest priority. Staff professional development is encouraged. Narromine is a service town for the rural population of the district. The majority of our families rely on the land for employment with others taking advantage of the proximity of Dubbo for jobs in the business sector. The school participates in community events including the ANZAC ceremony, Eisteddfods, local show and projects/competitions offered by external organisations.
